May and December: A Tale of Two Favorites

What’s your favorite month of the year? Why?

Ah, the eternal question – what’s your favorite month of the year? A query that, for me, sparks a whimsical dance between May and December, each twirling to its own unique rhythm.

Let’s start with May, the month of my grand entrance into this chaotic world. Oh, how I embrace the entire month as a personal celebration, a festival of me! Call me a Taurus if you will, for May is not just a month; it’s a state of mind. A time for rejuvenation, self-indulgence, and an unapologetic embrace of my Taurean temperament – stubborn, yes, but charmingly so. Very much so.

May whispers promises of blooming flowers, warmer days, and the subtle scent of birthday candles dancing in the air. It’s a month where I take center stage, and the world, well, it orbits around my birthday festivities. Spoiler alert: I do extend the celebration throughout the entire month; after all, why limit joy to just one day?

Now, let’s twirl to December, the grand finale of the calendar symphony. It’s the month where time pauses, allowing us to reflect on the chapters written, the challenges faced, and the victories celebrated. December is my thinking cap month, a time to ponder, strategize, and prepare for the grand unveiling of the coming year.

December isn’t just about personal reflection; it’s a whirlwind of celebrations. In my blended family, we embrace the spirit of Chrismukkah – a delightful fusion of Christmas and Hanukkah. It embodies the beauty of tolerance, openness, and the joy of giving. Picture this: menorahs and Christmas trees coexisting harmoniously, latkes and gingerbread cookies joining forces to delight our taste buds.

December, with its crisp air and festive fervor, becomes a canvas painted with the hues of love, celebration, and togetherness. It’s the month where the world, despite its differences, seems to pause for a collective exhale.

May, the month of unabashed self-celebration, and December, the grand finale sprinkled with reflections, festivities, and the magical blend of Chrismukkah. Two favorites, each with its own unique charm, twirling through the calendar pages and inviting me to revel in the joy they bring. Here’s to the delightful dance of May and December – the months that bookend my year with whimsy, warmth, and a dash of irreverence.
