What is your favorite place to go in your city?
It’s that time of the year again where I extoll the virtues and wonders of New York City.
Ah, the enchanting nights of New York City, where the skyline transforms into a shimmering tapestry, and the air is charged with electric tingles of urban magic. Ince you see New York City at night, you’ll understand love at first sight. I love all (well, almost all) parts of New York City.
One of my new favorite sections is that of the Brooklyn Pier Park. Oh, the secrets it holds, the panoramic views it offers! But shhh, let’s keep this gem between us. I wouldn’t want an influx of tourists turning my secret haven into a bustling hotspot. The Bronx Zoo, another hidden jewel in the concrete jungle, beckons with its wild wonders – a sanctuary within the chaos. I think it’s better than the San Diego zoo.
Now, about the Village, once a love affair, now a fond memory. My heart now leans towards the vast open spaces that breathe life into this bustling metropolis. During the holidays, Rockefeller Center becomes my winter wonderland, adorned with festive lights and the iconic Christmas tree. Macy’s, a beacon of holiday spirit, showcases quirky NYC items, adding a dash of eccentricity to the season.
But let’s not forget the dynamic duos of Bryant Park and Union Square Christmas Markets. The former, a haven for those who revel in open spaces, the latter, a marketplace where the city’s heartbeat syncs with the festive spirit. There’s something about the movement, the fleeting seasonal touches, and the spaces teeming with life that fuel my infatuation with NYC.
What makes these places special is the transient beauty. I adore the ever-changing landscape of this city . Each season brings its own charm, its own temporary allure. From winter wonderlands to summer escapades, the city dons different personas, and I revel in being a spectator to this ever-evolving spectacle.
If you want to catch a glimpse of my New York, venture into these open spaces, embrace the seasonal vibes, and relish the temporary magic that makes this city unique. As the skyline twinkles and the city pulses with life, you’ll understand why every corner, every park, and every market holds a piece of my irreverent, charming, and utterly authentic heart.

I no longer live in or near a city but in a tiny village in rural Wales. Reading your piece brought alive memories of times I spent in NYC, and I thank you for that. I have been to many cities around the world, and you’re right. NYC IS unique.
