You smell like strawberries and peanut butter

For some unfathomable reason, I have been binging on the television show NCIS: Los Angeles. I am now into season six. There’s apparently ten seasons and each have 24 episodes. That’s an awful lot of binging coming up. I suppose if one goes by a stricter definition of binging, I am not. I’ve recorded 7 seasons, thus far. However, I catch 2 to 3 episodes a day. One in the am and two at night to help me fall asleep.

In “binging”, certain phrases have stick around and swooshed about in my brain. One such phrase is when Deeks notes that Kensi smells of sunshine and gunpowder. Two of his favorite things. And, that phrase becomes a recurring theme for the show as the two characters become a couple.

Sunshine and gunpowder are an interesting combination. I have never smelled both together. What I have smelled together are strawberries and peanut butter. And, that is my son.

When I was pregnant I had severe morning sickness for seven months. I could barely eat. And, the doctors wouldnt give me the prescription which is readily give in Europe. But I won’t go into that here. Anyway. Most people didn’t know I was pregnant until I was six months or so. Some people thought that I was severely sick because I looked like I was losing weight. Go figure. But, regardless, I could barely eat. There was, however, one thing I could readily eat. And, that was strawberries.

Strawberries were my dinner. Once I hit seven months I could eat soba noodles. And that was my meal day in and day out. I eventually also was able to add cheese. Yum. I loved eating strawberries because he would do a little dance. So sweet!

And now that he is ten, he continues to have strawberries everyday. He loves fruit. Every meal he eats is accompanied by fruit as that serves as his dessert. He has also developed a fondness for peanut butter. He absolutely loves it. I believe it’s his way of compensating for my low iron.

Thus, my son smells of strawberries and peanut butter. Two of my favorite things because he loves them.
