I drive my car without the brakes

I’m a New Yorker. I don’t drive. I’m a New Yorker in Los Angeles. And, I don’t drive. Yet, I like this phrase I heard recently “I drive my car without the brakes.”

Sometimes life feels like we are rolling downhill quickly with no brakes. With no sense of what can stop the chaotic roll. Sometimes, we purposefully forgo the brakes. We take a chance. We know that a goal or a move, will be risky but we have to do it. Go big or go home.

Of course, driving without the brakes isn’t sustainable. Such neverending chaos would be unhealthy. But every once in a while can be fun. But perhaps only if it is just bumper cars.
