The land is as golden as your heart
Your heart is as soft as the summer field
Your smile gives me a kick start
With you by my side I am healed
Your little hands wiped away my large tears
Your small arms wrapped me up tightly
Your querying eyes eased my fears
Despite my heavy pain you made me sprightly
The barren-hearted trees await their leaves
Yet you remain my blossoming love
You dried my tear-soaked sleeves
Your love and my sanity hand in glove

I love that fresh take on drying tears by drying “tear-soaked sleeves”–great! 🙂
