A moment of silhouette introspection in the middle of an Australian Nature Reserve
This week I am kicking off a girl-power theme. I’m a tad bit tired of being the “strong woman behind the successful man”. Do individuals know how insulting that may be to say to a woman who is successful in her own right? The grand Lauren Bacall, who sadly just passed away, taught many a men how to whistle.
As I hiked a nature reserve in an area two hours away from Melbourne, Australia I clicked away on my camera. I was surrounded by large looming trees. I was deep within the forest. That was how I have been feeling for a long time lately. There comes a point where you trek and hike and you know there must be an end to the trail. Do I start a new trail? Do I go off the trail? Start my own trail? Stay for another loop on the same trail? It is all a trial of will, stamina and self-belief.
I know I want my voice to reverberate and have a long-lasting echo in the forest. I’d like to climb those looming trees that stand upright in the shadows.
I want to capture that silhouette and dance with it.

Beautiful photos…there is that very beautiful poem, I can’t remember who wrote it, about when you stand in the forest, the trees (and the forest) know where you are.

Many of us gals (how do you like that term?) are on a similar journey. I think I’ve reached a similar spot on that trail, too. Enjoyed this post which described it so perfectly.
