Ah, Sundays, the deceptive calm before the storm of a new week. They lure you in with their promise of relaxation, but beware, for Sundays harbor a sinister trap: the siren call of a new TV show. Case in point, my ill-fated decision to start watching “Fire Country” at 7pm last night. Innocent enough, right? Ha! Little did I know, this was the beginning of my Monday morning downfall.
“Just one episode,” I told myself. “One more,” I muttered at 8pm. By 9pm, I was hooked, ensnared in a web of cliffhangers and plot twists. Midnight rolled around, and I was still glued to the screen, bargaining with the clock like a caffeine-deprived gambler. “Okay, just one last episode,” I pleaded, as if the show’s fiery drama would resolve itself.
Fast forward to this morning: the alarm clock blares, yanking me out of a dream where I was heroically saving lives in Fire Country. Reality hits harder than a truckload of caffeine. My eyes, redder than a fire truck, blink wearily at the Monday sun. The morning blahs have morphed into a full-blown case of Monday Mayhem.
Coffee, my old friend, is no longer enough. I need an arsenal: Red Bull (which, of course, I forgot to pack), Coke Zero, and maybe a gallon of cold water splashed on my face. Jumping jacks in the office? Desperate times call for desperate measures.
So, let this be a cautionary tale. Never, I repeat, never start a new show on a Sunday night. Your Monday self will thank you. And as for me? Well, there’s always tonight’s episode to look forward to—right after I stock up on some serious energy drinks.

I used to dread Sundays when I was in school. Now, as an adult with a bit more control over my life, they aren’t so bad. 🙂
