Can you hear me now? Those words were repeated over and over in cell phone advertisements. We all laughed at it, especially when we ourselves had to ask such a question. Cell phones are a glorious invention that got us all questioning whether we are being heard. What a ninny!
Now, with Covid-19 it’s all gotten worse. We are constantly checking to see whether we are muted. We are constantly checking to see if we are unmuted. Then we are also being told people can’t hear us.
The best line someone said “we’re having challenges with your sound”. I didn’t even know what that meant. Am I full of static? Do I sound like a chipmunk? Does my voice lack harmonics?
We are in a constant sound feedback loop. We see ourselves. We hear ourselves. We wonder if others hear us when we need them to.

A sound feedback loop. That surely is a form of hell in itself!
