You came in a hurry leaving me in a haze
Your forget-me-nots not withstanding
Your tongue, the color of sapphire
Tastes of the looming beer garden
You embody the seven sins
But you are looked after by the Vulcan god
You celebrate the deeds of Michael the archangel
Eating goose bits with the queen
You focus on how you relate to others
Trying to find a balance in your excesses
While you are on a quest for fairness, peace and harmony
Time has not provided me with any solace
My fingers raw, bitten and cramped
I will celebrate October’s arrival
And bid you, dear September, adieu
