My footsteps are his and his are mine: Monday Reflections
It’s just another manic Monday and it is NOT my fun day. However, we are getting into the homestretch of the year 2014. I just ordered my Thanksgiving meal. Yes, I order it and not cook it. This is one of the best perks of living in New York. As I walk my son to school this morning ignoring the sad glances of his fellow schoolmates passing us by in cars and buses, I look down at our feet that are in lockstep. As we walk to school I talk to him about community indicators and our upcoming trip to Berlin. As we walk and talk, our steps sync up highlighting a grand harmony between mom and son. If somehow my computer were to appear at some antique store, they would come across thousands upon thousands of photographs of the adventures our family has taken. Random photos of our yearly steps.
I think of our past year’s footsteps. We have traveled far and wide together. We have climbed the hills and valleys of Australia. We have hiked the gorges nearby. We have goofily danced together in the living room. We have raced up the stairs. My footsteps are his and his are mine.
He has been my little bird -we leave our imprints on a future generation
My hope is that we continue to share our steps and guide one another through the years

I still prefer looking at actual printed off photos to the ones I have on my pc, but yes, so many memories there. Also, that bird is gorgeous!

Very nice post Mimi. It sure is a lovely time to be had when a child is being schooled in travel and culture. It will prove to be of great benefit to him as an adult.
By the way, the beautiful bird you refer to I believe to be a Crimson Rosella, quite common in South East Australia and much loved for its colour and song.
Your boy will too soon be a man and whilst this is to be enjoyed as well, there is great pleasure to be had together in his early years.Enjoy! B
