Sadly, there are some individuals who can never give a compliment or acknowledge the great deeds of others. If they didn’t do such acts, they are suspect in their eyes. These are stingy people. They are stingy with their praise and good will towards others. They are stingy across the spectrum of humam actions.
They don’t really feel guilty about their lack of praise. They often relish in it. However, to perhaps minimize some possible cognitive dissonance, they pretend that in actuality you are a bad person. They go all in and out on that personification. It’s really fantastic acting. Although, its a horrible instance of humanity.
To counter such acts, you just have to compartmentalize and rise above. Although, that is probably easier said than done.
