They couldn’t take anything for granted

They slowly left their house to start their family walk. They loved this time of day where they could just connect, hold hands and leave their electronics behind. Not many people were doing that these days. But they understood the importance. Sadly, too many people in her family had died at a young age. Not many had seen past the age of 50. Thus every day, every moment is crucial to their happiness. They all understood that.

They walked to the fast food place and stared at the blowing flag. Yeah, they shouldn’t eat so badly- even though they mostly got salads. But what was most important was enjoying the time together. A major birthday was coming up next week and they couldn’t take anything for granted. They laughed. They giggled. They hoped.
