High-five!  2014 came with grand celebration.  One day in and there’s already much to see, plan and do. Today the new Mayor of New York City took office pledging universal pre-kindergarten and increased taxation on the rich (defined as making $500,000 or more a year) that basically amounts to one small latté a day.  But before we dive in to our work projects, our policy debates, our chores and the economics of paying off our bills let’s take one last celebratory lap. Let’s hear it for 2014.Each new year for which we see a new dawn is a exhilarating cause for a celebration.

Annually, National High-five day falls on the third Thursday of April. But let’s do a collective baby fist bump reflecting whimsy, openness and general good will.
